The material shows whether you are still sampling it, use it, or its supplier no longer offers it.
Set the status
- 1In Production → Materials, click the material. Status is on the Details card.
- 2Open Status and pick the status.
When Choose What it changes you are still working with samples and have not ordered the material “Sampling” When you send a material order with this material, the status changes to “Active” you use the material “Active” This is the status a new material starts with the supplier no longer offers the material “Discontinued” Product BOMs and the “Material Planner” show “Discontinued” next to the material Sampling and Discontinued have a short note under their names. - 3Click Save in the save bar at the bottom of the page.
Check the result
The message Material updated successfully appears. Status on the Details card shows the new status, and so does the Status column in Materials.
If it does not work
- There is no Status field on the New material form — a new material starts as Active. Click Create material, then set Status on the material card.
