Add a material file

A spec sheet, label, invoice, certificate or test report stays on the material, in Documents & sources.

Before you start

  • The material is saved. A new material shows Documents & sources after you save it.

Add the file

  1. 1In Production → Materials, click the material. In the right column, scroll below Compliance to Documents & sources.
Documents & sources starts right below the Customs part of Compliance.
  2. 2In Document type, choose the type of the file.
    WhenChooseWhat it changes
A spec sheet in PDF or a photo of a label“Based on file format”A PDF is saved as “Spec sheet”, an image as “Label”
An invoice, certificate, test report, photo or other fileThat type, for example “Test report”The type shows under the file name
  3. 3Drag the files onto the upload area, or click Upload and pick them. Upload files of one type together, because the type applies to all of them.

Check the result

Each file shows its name and, under it, its type and date. For example: Test report · added 04.10.2026. Click the name to open the file in a new tab.

Check the type under each file name.

If it does not work

  • isn't a PDF, JPG, PNG or WebP file or is larger than 20 MB — the app takes PDF, JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 20 MB. Save the file in one of these formats under 20 MB and upload it again.
  • Couldn't upload — the upload did not finish. Upload that file again. The other files are already in the list.
  • The file has the wrong type — you cannot change the type of an uploaded file. Remove the file and upload it again with the right Document type. See “Replace or remove a material file”.
Next
  • Attach a file to a certificate or test result — use the file as proof on a certificate or test result.
  • Replace or remove a material file — upload a newer version or remove a file.
