A file leaves the material, or a newer version takes its place. Before you remove a file, you see which certificates and test results lose it.
Remove a file
- 1In Production → Materials, click the material. In Documents & sources, click the three dots (⋮) next to the file.
When Choose What it changes You have a newer version of the same document “Replace…” Certificates and test results keep the file. See Upload a newer version of a file below The file was added by mistake or is no longer valid “Remove” Certificates and test results lose the file The file menu sits next to each file in Documents & sources. - 2Click Remove. The window shows how many certificates go back to Unverified and how many test results lose the file.WarningYou can't undo removing a file.
- Click Remove file.
Check the result
The file is gone from Documents & sources. A certificate that showed File attached with this file now shows Unverified under its number.
Other situations
Upload a newer version of a file
Use this when certificates or test results use the file and you have a newer version.
WarningThe old version is deleted without a confirmation. Keep a copy if you still need it.
- 1In the file's menu, click Replace… and choose the new file on your computer. The list shows the new file name. A certificate that uses the file still shows File attached.
If it does not work
- The menu shows Delete certificate instead of Replace… and Remove — you opened the certificate's menu in Certificates. Use the three dots next to the file in Documents & sources.
