The pieces the maker sent go into stock as product lots. Rejected and missing pieces are recorded as a claim with the maker.
Before you start
- At least one warehouse in Settings → Warehouses stores products.
Receive the delivery
- 1In Production → Production Orders, click To receive and open the order. Go to the Goods tab and click Receive next to the shipment. The Receive delivery panel opens with the announced pieces already in Received and Accepted.
A shipment the maker announced waits in Shipments; Receive opens the receipt for it. - 2Check Received on. In Warehouse, check that it names the warehouse where you keep products, and choose another if needed. Accepted pieces become lots in this warehouse.
- 3Record what you counted. For each line, type the pieces that arrived in Received. Choose where each piece goes:
When the pieces Enter What it records are fine “Accepted” grade A lots in stock have a fault you accept, to sell as second grade “Second” B-second lots are faulty and go back to the maker “Rejected”, with the reason in “Reason for maker” lots on hold and a quality claim with the maker did not arrive, though the maker announced them a lower number in “Received” a short delivery claim with the maker - Type faulty pieces in Second or Rejected, and Accepted keeps the rest. If you lower Accepted instead, the pieces you took out move to Rejected.
Accepted, Second and Rejected always add up to Received; the summary under the table shows how many lots the receipt creates and where. - 4Optional: add what you paid for this delivery on top of the agreed price, for example freight. Under Extra costs, click Add cost and type the amount. The amount is spread over the lots of this receipt by value and raises their unit cost. A line without an agreed price gets its share of the extra costs as its unit cost.
- 5Click Post receipt. The button counts the lots it creates, for example Post receipt · 2 lots.
Check the result
In the Goods tab, the receipt is listed under Receipts.
If it does not work
- Warehouse says “Set Stores to Products in Settings › Warehouses” — no warehouse of your brand stores products. In Settings → Warehouses, open a warehouse and set Stores to Products. Then open the Receive delivery panel again.
- The panel says a line has more pieces received than announced — you typed more than the maker announced. Enter the announced number or fewer.
