Follow production at the maker

Record the maker's latest numbers, and the order shows how many pieces are cut, sewn, finished and packed.

Before you start

  • The order is sent to the maker. See “Send a production order to a maker”.

Report progress at the maker

  1. 1In Production → Production Orders, open the order. In the Progress tab, click Report progress. The panel lists each line with the stages Cut, Sewn, Finished and Packed, plus Rework and Rejected. The numbers from the last report are already filled in.
  2. 2Type how many pieces are at each stage now. Each number replaces the one from the last report, so type the total at that stage. For a stage that is complete, click Mark stage done. Then click Save report.
The Cut cell holds the total at that stage now, with the last report's number under it.

Check the result

The message “Progress report saved” appears. In the Progress tab, the stage tiles show the new share of the confirmed pieces. The table shows last report with today's date.

Other situations

Resolve a problem the maker reported

Use this when the order shows a red notice about an open problem, or Problems lists one.

  1. 1In the Progress tab, under Problems, click the three dots (⋮) next to the problem and click Resolve.
  2. 2Describe the solution in Resolution and click Resolve. The problem shows Resolved with your description, and the red notice disappears. No message appears.

Record the final inspection

Use this when the goods passed the final inspection.

  1. 1On the order card, click the three dots (⋮) and click Record inspection.
  2. 2In Result, choose Pass and keep OK to ship in Decision. Type the number in Checked pieces.
  3. 3Click Save inspection. The message “Inspection saved” appears, and the step bar shows QC with today's date.
ImportantThe maker gets no email about the inspection. Tell the maker the goods can ship.

Stop shipping after a failed inspection

Use this when the goods failed the final inspection and must not ship yet.

  1. 1On the order card, click the three dots (⋮) and click Record inspection.
  2. 2In Result, choose Fail. Decision switches to Rework; choose Hold.
  3. 3Click Add defect or type a Note. You cannot save a Fail without one of them.
  4. 4Click Save inspection. The panel says “Shipping is on hold until you record a new inspection”, and the message “Inspection saved” appears.
  5. 5Tell the maker what to fix. The maker gets no email about it.

If it does not work

  • Save report stays inactive after you type a number — the number counts once you leave the field. Press Tab or click outside the field.
Next
  • Receive a delivery from a maker — after the inspection, the maker ships the goods and you receive them.
