Mark a lot as B-second

The faulty pieces leave the sellable pool and stay in the warehouse as B-second stock. An order that was promised them goes short.

Before you start

What you needDetail
Data at handWhich lot the faulty pieces come from. The same colour and size can lie in several lots, and the grade covers one whole lot, not the pieces you pick out of it.
Already in the appThe lot is on the shelf. A lot at a maker or in a process has one item in its “Lot actions” menu — “Move to process…”.
Where to start“Stock” → “Product Inventory” → “Products”

Mark the lot as B-second

  1. 1Expand the product row and click “Where?” on the colour's line. The panel “Where is it?” opens with one card per lot.
  2. 2Pick the lot the faulty pieces come from. Each card gives “Location”, “Lot no”, the “Added” date and the piece count, and a card with “Reserved for” names the order the lot is promised to.
  3. 3Open the card's “Lot actions” menu and choose “Mark as B-second…”. The window reads “B-second stock is no longer sellable as grade A — it leaves the sellable pool.”
WarningOn a promised lot the window names the order that loses its coverage: “This lot is promised to 0019_LCM. Marking it B-second releases that reservation — the order will show missing coverage.” The allocator covers that order from another lot if one is free.
When the lot is promised to an order, the window names that order before you save — saving hands the pieces back and the order goes short.
  4. 4Describe the defect in “Reason”. The field is optional and its hint reads “Defect note (optional) — e.g. stitch defect”; what you type stays with the grade change in the lot's movement log. Then click “Mark as B-second”.
ImportantThe pieces stay in the warehouse and leave the sellable pool. The shop and the B2B catalogue stop offering them.

Check the result

Go4 confirms with “Marked B-second · reservation released” when the lot was promised, or “Lot marked as B-second” when it was free. The lot card is then marked “Held back”, and its pieces leave the figures in the product row: “Reserved” drops when the lot was promised, “In stock” when it was free.

Other situations

Restore the lot to grade A

The defect has been repaired, or the grade went onto the wrong lot.

  1. 1Open the same lot's “Lot actions” menu and choose “Restore grade A”. The menu carries that item in place of “Mark as B-second…” while the lot holds a grade other than A. Go4 saves straight away, without asking for a reason, and confirms with “Grade restored to A”. The “Held back” mark then leaves the card.
ImportantThe pieces go back to the free pool, and the allocator takes them from there at once. It can promise them to any order waiting for that colour and size.

  • Correct a lot's count, or write it off — the neighbouring decision on the same lot.
  • Check whether an order is covered — the order stands without those pieces, and that shows on the order.
